Katharine Hepburn's trademark was playing strong independent women with minds of their own in Hollywood. She raised many eye brows as she often wore slacks instead of dresses, decades before it became fashionable for women to do so. Her confident, distinctive way of speaking captured every one's attention and many would say it was a "Bryn Mawr" accent.
